Western States 2008
Western States 2008 is not far off. Plans are already set. Mark your calendars for July 28th through August 2nd.
Monday-Registration; Tuesday-Slalom, XF Test Drives, Rodeo & BBQ; Wednesday-Rallye, Museum Tour and dinner. This museum has around 100 fantastic cars on display. Thursday-Sunrise breakfast. This is worth getting up early for. Seeing the sunrise at the Colorado National Monument (a smaller version of the Grand Canyon) is breathtaking, Car Cleaning, shuttle to town, Croquet in the afternoon, Old West Casino Night dinner and gambling. You will receive chips during the various events to use for gambling; Friday-WS08 Concours, Awards Banquet. The cost is $325 per person and that includes all events.
Sat-Optional RMJC Concours, Awards Banquet. For those of you who need to pick up some extra points, this is the time. Your Jaguar is already clean. This concours is additional for everyone. $55 for concours classes,
Although the name is Western States, this is a national event and celebration. We are encouraging all JCNA club members from North American to attend and do have quite a few reservations already. Hotel rooms are filing up fast.
The Grand Junction Double Tree (970-241-8888) is the main venue at $95 per night. However, some people have said they are bringing pets. The Holiday Inn (970-243-6490), three tents of a mile away, does accept pets and their room rate is $100 per night.
50th Anniversary of JCNA. As all clubs know, we have been working on a great publication including each club's history and a number of great photos. There will be various displays and celebrations throughout the week.
Be sure to go out to www.westernstates2008.com for the registration form and other information. This event is a worthy fund raiser for Cerebral Palsy and we appreciate everyone's participation. We also have a number of great sponsors and we encourage everyone to support our sponsors because without them, this event would not be possible.

Western States 2008
Due to not being able to find a suitable venue at an affordable price, the Jaguar Owners Club of Los Angeles as asked the Rocky Mountain Jaguar Club if they could move up their plans up from 2010 to 2008. As the Rocky Mtn. Jaguar Club was already working on plans for WS 2010, it was not a major problem to move the schedule up.
Western States 2008 will be held in Grand Junction, Colorado July 28th through August 2nd. Events will include slalom, rallye, a museum tour and more. This is going to be a really big event. We want to encourage everyone who is a current judge to be sure to get certified this year. Judges will be asked to show their JCNA membership card with the coveted "J" in front of their JCNA number. Again, there will be lots of rewards for being a Certified Judge. There will be instructions published in the September issue of JJ for each club's membership chair as to how to insure the "J" gets on the membership card when renewals are sent in the end of the year. But you must get certified this year to have the "J" on your 2008 card.
Also included in WS08 will be the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of JCNA. This publication will include each of the 62 JCNA clubs. Each club will have a left page for a story about the club's history and something about the club now. On the right will be 6 or 8 photos and captions. Please have someone in your club start on this project right away. All the information needs to be received by the end of 2007 in order to provide enough time to get it ready for publication in 2008. Also needed is a copy of the club's logo, high resolutions is preferred and a club patch if you have one.
As plans develop, we will keep everyone posted.

2008 Progressive Dinner
What? Another dinner? At least we stick to doing what we do best, and if that means eating... well, we're world-class.
Thanks to Jim and Sandy Franks, Bernie and Roberta Mesco, and Sally McClary for hosting this one.

Bring a lunch. |
A man approached an ice cream van and said, "I'd like two scoops of
chocolate ice cream, please."
The girl behind the counter replied, "I'm very sorry, sir, but our delivery
didn't come this morning. We're out of chocolate."
"In that case," the man continued, "I'll have two scoops of chocolate ice
cream."
"You don't understand, sir," the girl said. "We have no chocolate."
"Then just give me some chocolate," he insisted.
Getting angrier by the second, the girl asked, "Sir, will you spell 'van,'
as in 'vanilla'?"
The man spelled, "V-A-N."
"Now spell 'straw,' as in 'strawberry.'"
"OK. 'S-T-R-A-W.'"
"Now," the girl asked, "spell 'stink,' as in 'chocolate.'"
The man hesitated and then looked confused as he replied, "There is no stink
in chocolate."
"That's what I've been trying to tell you!" she screamed.
