Ron Hamilton graciously offered to host this year. That's the great thing about new members - they don't have any recollection of past years parties and therefore have little deterrent to volunteering their home.

It's a potluck affair. A flyer with all the details will be sent out to members prior to the event, but there's no reason to delay picking up your contribution to the basket of cheer early, just so you're not rushing around Lee's Liquors last minute..

Hopefully, you've visited our site often enough to recognize some design changes have been made. Whether it was done out of boredom, or - as I prefer to think - out of a keen eye for aesthetic improvement and a pragmatic solution, doesn't really matter. What we're trying to do here is substitute a contemporary media for the traditional newsletter. It allows for more frequent updates and announcements, more pictures from events, immediate response for changes, and can accomodate more information than the old printed newsletter format. Hopefully, this new design makes all of that more viable, and more pleasing to the eye. For some of us who know how to increase the font size in our browser, we also hope it makes it easier to read.

Your feedback, while not imperative, is important and welcome. Frankly, after sloshing through HTML code for a few days, fighting formatting glitches, discarding half a day's work and starting over, I'm not in the best position to judge the site outside of it's editing ease - a factor for which I realize the viewer has little concern. So feel free to e-mail me, call me (my contact information is on the membership roster), or just let me know at the next event or meeting what you think. And I'm always receptive to suggestions.

Doug and (mostly) Theresa have put together a fun little poker rally beginning at the NW corner parking lot of the Red Rock casino. It should take about 2 hours total, with a picnic lunch at the end, provided by Theresa. Bring 5 bucks per person to cover the cost of the food, and a gambling spirit. RSVP to Theresa @ 631-9281 up to 2 days prior. Winner(s) will get a trophy appropriate for display in any fine garage or attic as a commemoration of their superior skill and luck.
